6. Cockney Rhyming slang. Pick up the 'Dog and Bone', Climb the 'Apples and Pears' and 'have a butchers'. Local language can be oh! so eloquent.

7. Boris bikes. Borrow a bike from the major of London, they're even planning expansion further into the South West.

12. It's the most stylish city in the world. Think fashionistas such as Alexa Chung, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Kate Moss, David Bowie. The list is endless.

13. It's so stylish they have a whole week dedicated to it. London Fashion Week is a global event for designers to display their latest collections. The best thing about it is, if you watch out for some of the lesser known shows you can soak up the experience for free. Find out more information here.

14. Love London in the rain. Don your cagoule and umbrella and do take things indoors, sit in a cosy pub or coffee-house for a crumpet and cup of tea!

15. The West End. This is one of London's most vibrant areas and has a unique atmosphere and theatre scene, from musicals to heart wrenching plays.
