Walk the Walk fulfilling its motto:
Raise money, Raise awareness, Get fit and Have fun!

%%
In addition to the registration fees, each walker is asked to help raise the much-needed funds to fight the cancer scourge by obtaining further sponsorships to mark their efforts on the night. Every adult joining the

The
MoonWalks are
Walk the Walk's flagship events held annually in Scotland, London, and Iceland. The funds raised during these events are granted to aid in breast cancer research and help improve the lives of people who are living with the disease. As a result
Walk the Walk has granted in excess of £30 million to
Breast Cancer Now for a range of very specific research studies including the extremely important
The Generation Study and extensive support for the very important tissue research being carried out by the
Tissue Bank .
Another important feature of
The MoonWalk Scotland for all you parochialists is that, like what happens in Vega stays in Vegas, most of the money raised in Scotland, stays in Scotland. The most significant grants resulting from the
MoonWalk Scotland are:
Maggie's Centres offering support to people diagnosed with all types of cancer, as well as emotional support for families which is done through funding centres at Gartnavel, Glasgow and the Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert and the Lanarkshire Centre in the grounds of Monklands Hospital in Airdrie;
The Breast Cancer Institute in Edinburgh for direct support of several major projects, including renovating the breast ward and Mammography Unit, as well as building a new operating theatre; as well as
Many other beneficiaries in Scotland and other parts of the UK that you can see here on the web page.
If you think you would be more help in providing assistant to the walkers than walking yourself then why not think about becoming a
MoonWalk volunteer?
Walk the Walk volunteers join in the fun and fulfil a most important function during every event. Volunteering enables you to share some incredibly humbling, rewarding and memorable experiences all experienced in the knowledge you are part of the mainstay of the events and the support many of the walkers will rely on during their challenges.
