Monopoly is the most commercially successful board game in history and thus most of us have fond childhood memories of the game. If you're living in London, relive the fun of the game with an adult twist and go on a .

Although pub crawls are typically the domain of students and stag nights, a is something everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. It's a great idea for those new to London as the novelty of property names such as Pall Mall, Oxford St, Euston Rd and Mayfair that existed only on a game board become actual places, those who are tired of their local watering hole and want a different experience, and for those who are celebrating something (such as Saturday!)

The goal of a is to visit a pub at each one of the properties and stations that are found on a Monopoly board. You can either participate in an organised tour run by a company or do your own research and map out your own route and choose your own pubs at each location. If you can't be bothered doing the leg work, there are plenty of suggested pubs and routes to be found on the internet. If you follow the order as it appears on the board, be prepared for quite a lot of travel going back and forth across the city.

Let's be practical for a moment. There are 26 streets on a Monopoly board and if you're planning to drink a pint in every pub you're unlikely to complete the pub crawl. Pace yourself, stick to half pints and drink water only at every few stops. After all, you don't want to end up sick or losing your mind and getting locked up – there aren't any 'get out jail free' cards on offer!

Some handy hints to consider:
1. Have a planned timeframe; say 20-30 minutes in each pub.
2. Check opening and closing times of the pubs you want to visit.
3. If your group is large, it's courteous to let each pub know in advance that you're coming and what time to be expected.
4. Know how you're getting home, obviously driving is not an option.

If you want a memento from your pub crawl, bring along a Monopoly board and have each bartender signoff each street as you visit each pub. Also, take plenty of pictures of your crawl - it might help explain any missing blanks from the night!
