While I went for the New York classic, Eggs Benedict, my mum chose the comfort food of home: a quintessentially English Ham & Eggs with a portion of fries. I felt that the dish could have been presented better, with the fried eggs layered on top of the ham instead of the other way round, which made it look a bit like it was just dumped on the plate.
As for the quality of the food itself, Mum found it every bit a satisfying as she had hoped. The thin crispy fries were a nostalgic indulgence in memory of the days when we used stop off at fast food restaurants, and went well dipped in egg.
