I am a freelance writer, living in Bath with my wife and son.
I love my city, and love to live here. I write about Bath every day, and sometimes about travels in Ireland.

Make it your mission to enjoy a superb burrito
Hearty, healthy and packed full of flavour, Mission Burrito make superb Mexican food, right in front of your eyes. They also do also nachos, but this article focuses on these cigar-shaped wraps from heaven. I can, and do, eat these at any time of the day or night, and my mind and body always feel happier for them.
The burrito itself is a filled tortilla wrap, expertly rolled and wrapped in foil at incredible, affable speed by the staff. The meat or vegetarian filling is skillfully mixed with black or pinto beans, rice, and many other extras ranging from avocado to cheese and sour cream. Topping it off is a choice of three salsas: cooling green salsa, a warming chipotle, or fiery habanero (irresistibly hot). There's a choice of whether to have your burrito as a take-out or to sit in. The place smells wonderful and there's always some authentic and stylish Mexican music playing.
With the variety of fillings and sides on offer, it would be possible to have a huge variety of burritos. I always go for chicken with habanero, but would happily eat a vegetarian option, pork, pulled pork or beef version. There's even the option to go for a small burrito, perfect for a snack, as the regular ones are big and a meal in themselves. The perfect accompaniment to the main event is a colourful Jarritos soft drink, as seen in the photograph below.
With its location in Kingsmead Square, Mission Burrito is well placed to have a relaxed lunch or snack outside. The square is popular with buskers and the tables outside give a perfect view across the square itself. I always avail myself of the blue benches under the massive tree at the centre of the square.
One thing I love about Mission Burrito is that it is a young company in the UK. There are only eight outlets so far and three of these are in the Bath/ Bristol area. Although they are assembled quickly, I think that they really are works of art, prepared carefully and with quality ingredients. They also look as good as they taste, which in my eyes is something rarely accomplished. If you are coming to visit Bath, then I strongly suggest making a beeline for a burrito.
