Miss Chief in the Backyard is an eclectic variety show that takes place at the Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green, every first Wednesday of the month. With tickets costing £5, you will meet a mix of London performers who 'play a window in two worlds' with songs, twists, inspirations, riddles, and tricks. Listen to pianists tickle the ivories, watch as dummies interrupt their ventriloquists, and see short bursts of movement from dancers.
The next event is on the 2nd April from 8.30pm, starting with Michaela Bennetts-Higgins, who has recently graduated from Kent Stage Academy, and has performed in several productions, including Mother Goose and Dick Whittington pantomimes by the Says Two Theatre Company.
She will be followed by Benesha Adesina and Uche Ocoli, who will perform spirited Afro Caribbean routines, and spontaneous music by Jimbo on his Joanna. Kenny O'Connor will reveal some poetry, while Afro Dizzy Act demonstrates magic.
The Frost and Ireland will return for another month of comedy sketches. Stu Ness will surprise you with 'Mind Magic', and Johnny MacAulay, is a 'man of a thousand farces'. Many other talented acts will also be on stage.
Arrive early, and you can try out one of their tasty pizzas, which are between £7-£8.50.
