You can probably tell by now that I am obsessed with coffee, and more than that, the independent coffee shop, so often overlooked in the UK. Miro's, without a doubt, is one of my favourites. Prime location, cheap prices, and huge portions; this is a place not to be missed.

Situated directly opposite the Parkinson steps, (could the location be any more perfect for students?) Miro's brings me back time and time again. The interior is minimalist, and as such is often over shadowed by it's flashy neighbours, yet at £2.45, for what is practically a bowl of cappuccino, Miro's is on to a winner.

Plus, alongside the high quality vats of coffee, the food is equally delicious. Every day the shelves are stacked with a huge array of freshly baked cakes, sandwiches, and pastas. Like the coffee, the prices are reasonable, averaging at £2.50 per item. Whilst you may assume the price means poor quality, the sandwiches are crammed with delicious produce, from pulled pork to hoisin duck, there is a sandwich for everyone. And for the more adventurous, no Italian cafe would be complete without a selection of traditional Italian treats.

If you are after a coffee shop that puts its coffee and food over and above the decor, Miro's is for you.
