Have fun, for a (n ex) change

Looking for somewhere good to take a break - fancy a pint, or perhaps a coffee instead? Anywhere near the city? Well, I think I've got somewhere for you...

Minster Exchange is a city bar, which is perfect for those working in the Square Mile, but it also has a charm all of its own - so worth a pop in if you are in the area.

Owned by the mighty Balls Brothers chain, who have a number of bars across the capital, you are guaranteed a first rate experience as soon as you walk through the door.

The reason I want to recommend this particular bar to you is it is one of the few in the city where you can be both outside and in at the same time, as it has a lovely covered terrace, which means whatever the weather you can breathe a little fresh air. Also, they are quite generous with the entertainment - live sports are shown when major tournaments are on (so good for the upcoming football world cup), plus they have live music on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday belongs to the Happy Hour, where prices on a range of drinks come down by 50 per cent...(so now you know why people celebrate Thursday as much as Friday in the City).

Should you be hungry, they are well equipped for food (I am especially looking forward to their January one-pot menu), and even have conference rooms available for those who would like to use the venue for more business-related affairs.

All-in-all, a place you need in your life, should you find yourself in the City.
