Mi & #43 ; Me



While meandering though St. Pancras looking for a place to satiate our hunger, my friends and I stumbled across the humble Mi & #43 ; Me on the upper level.

A short and trendy way to reference "Milk" and "Meat", the eat-in deli is named after the food carriages that were first used by railways in the Victorian era to quickly bring fresh produce to London from the countryside.

Specialising in hand-carved deli sandwiches, MI & #43 ; ME sources all of their ingredients with local artisan cheesemakers and butchers in small batches to best suit each season's harvests and specialties.



They often work with local breweries and wineries as well, and while a bit on the pricier side for the deli-type atmosphere, the rose we had was quite good.

We decided to do a sharing lunch, ordering and each trying a bit of their bbq bratwurst sandwich, steak and peppers sandwich, meatball sub, and sausage and mash plate.

My personal favorites were the sausage and mash plate and then steak and peppers sandwich, each for a similar reason: their sauces. The sausage and mash plate was topped with an incredible onion and red wine gravy that I couldn't get enough of. The steak and peppers sandwich was not only cooked to a perfect medium rare, but also was served on a sourdough that was topped with a wonderful spicy mayo that really brought the entire sandwich together.



Of course, no meal is complete without dessert, and while the dessert selection is quite small, Mi Me knows what they are doing. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth after your meal, you have the option of either jam filled or custard filled doughnuts. You can mix and match them, which I highly recommend so that you can try both.
