If you like dressing up retro then your heart must soar whenever you see a vintage fashion shop. Although it is possible to buy vintage clothing, shops that specialise in this area are sparse, and not usually found on your local high street. Your best bet is going into a department store and hoping that they stock a particular designer, or try your luck at the charity shop.
But now is your golden opportunity to be transported back the the golden era. On the 12th April between 10.30am 4pm at the Hammersmith Club, Bettina Scarlett is putting on a
Mid Century Market. This one of a kind market has the largest gathering of vintage and retro styles anywhere in Britain.
Finally you can find all the best vintage designer outfits all in one place. But it isn't just clothes. The Mid Century Market features the whole 1950s culture. From homeware to rare records, listen to live bands singing classic songs from the fifties, and sit down and chat over and Bettina's best cuppa in a stylish tearoom setting. And if you need a hair cut, why settle for anything less than an authentic vintage hairstyle at the onsite barbers?
Entry is £3 and free for children.
