One of the UK's leading and most popular comedians is back with a brand new live show that is certain to have audiences rocking with laughter. Micky Flanagan , the star of live stage, television and TikTok alike has been busy writing new gags and material for his new show, entitled If Ever We Needed It... and is now taking it out on the road, including a performance at Birmingham Utilita Arena on March 30. The 2023 stand-up show, which kicks off in Bournemouth on March 15 and finishes in London on May 13, covers Micky turning 60, as well as having sex with your glasses on, his school alumni and his ballbag. It’s fair to say it’s for the over-16s. Micky is the man who gave Britain the “Out Out” phrase, which was used by Piccadilly Circus tube in London to put a smile on commuters’ faces as the UK came out of Covid lockdown. It went on to be used by Transport for London to encourage people back into theatres, restaurants and clubs. Micky cut his comedy teeth at clubs and the campaign seemingly paid off. As well as his live stage shows, Micky has also been a regular on TV, while routines including the Perks of Peeping, The Crafty Cockney, Tomato Sauce and Chicken Children, have been viewed online in the hundreds of millions on TikTok.

Micky Flanagan embarking on new stand-up tour

Micky is described as a working-class boy 'done good; by rising to the very top of the comedy world. In 2016 he was the best-selling comic in the UK without doing a show, purely for the advance tickets on his 2017 tour, An’ Another Fing… which went on to sell more than 600,000 tickets, making it the biggest stand-up tour in the world that year. He was the first comic to do 16 London arenas in one tour and, over the years, has sold millions of DVDs and is responsible for half of all comedy downloads in the UK - not bad for someone who still has some VHS tapes and thinks Blu Ray is someone who specialises in adult content. Back in 2007 Micky was nominated for The Edinburgh Comedy Award with his show What Chance Change? This became the basis for his Radio 4 series which led to a TV and show-stealing appearance at The Royal Variety Performance, for which he was nominated for the Best Breakthrough Act at the British Comedy Awards. Unforgettable appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Live At The Apollo followed plus hilarious outings on panel and chat shows which have helped Micky become one of the best-loved comedians in the UK and Ireland.
