Can't wait till Sunday service to get your dose of heavenly music? Or perhaps you're looking for something other than just hymns? The borough of Merton has plenty of choral groups that give regular performances at various churches around the area.

One of the most prolific are the West Barnes Singers , who on the 26th of October will be giving an autumn concert at St. John the Baptist Church in Wimbledon. Tickets are £10 for adults and £3 for children, and the concert begins at 7.30pm. The programme includes Five Mystical Songs, Drei Geistliche Lieder, and I Will Magnify Thee.

St. John's the Baptist Church also provide free bi-weekly lunch time recitals, which are performed by professional musicians. There refreshments available from 12.30pm, and the forty-five minute recitals start at 1pm on Fridays. The next dates are 27th September, 11 & 25th October, and 8th November. Then on the 10th of November, the St. John's singers will be holding Faure's Requiem at 7.30pm for Remembrance day. It will include am organ and string quintet.

On October 19th, the Morden Park Choral Society will also be having an autumn concert at 7.30pm. It will be held at St. John the Divine in Merton. If you are already in the Christmas spirit of things, then join the Hill Singers on the 24th September for their Christmas concert rehearsals. It will be held at Raynes Park Methodist Church between 7.30pm-9.30pm
