Mehfil is a hotel and restaurant in Southall, West London, and it's very good.

A clean and comfortable dining area is only the start of the positives, as you are served very efficiently by knowledgeable and helpful staff.

The food is prepared quickly but does not lack in quality or care.

My group and I decided to start with a Mehfil Mix Platter. At £16 it is not cheap. You get a fair amount of very tasty meats including prawn, lamb sheekh and chicken.

We complimented the platter with Chicken Nilgiri and Lamb Do Pyaa. Both were nice, especially the unique tasting Chicken.

The Mehfil Basket is an excellent accompaniment. The selection of different Naan breads was a lot better than I had anticipated, and three of us were struggling to finish by the end.

Mehfil is quite expensive for the amount you get, but you are paying more for the quality and service.

As I said the staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant has no set closing time, although they do stop serving food at 11pm. Lunch is from 12noon - 2.45pm.

They also have a large car park at the rear.

I enjoyed my visit to Mehfil very much.
