Dating back to the 18th century, this very old and unique bar based in South Shields (near Newcastle), used to be a place where smugglers hid their alcohol. Now, this licensed bar is a beautiful place to just sit back and enjoy the views of Whitley Bay.

Over time, this extraordinary little hide-out has developed into a two storey restaurant and bar area. Downstairs is perfect for a lovely family meal and the menu is based on your traditional pub grub.

This is a perfect place to come for either a special occasion or a family day out. Many people choose to have their wedding in this venue as it is so beautiful and such an original idea.
