My friends and I have a habit of seeking out organic places, and sussing them out. Are they truly organic? Is everything handmade? If every one of our not-that-scrutinous- boxes are ticked, then we give it the thumbs up, and become regulars.
Every time we come here we find ourselves contemplating a move to Kings Heath. It really is that good. If we were locals we'd have already worked our way through the entire menu. As it is we're getting started, but we can recommend the fantastic breakfasts and the homemade soup. I'm a sucker for a warming bowl of liquid, and their three bean soup is much meatier in texture, and richer in flavour than you'd think.
My friend always orders a sandwich because their bread soaks up the fresh dressings something beautiful, and they layer up their fillings, so you get a full mouthful. My friend always orders their cheese-filled sarnies because their homemade pickles, when married with the cheese, is really something special.
The (hot), menu changes on a daily basis, as does the fresh soup, which truly warms the cockles of an Autumnal evening. Speaking of which, it's great at night too, when the candlelight adds a cosiness. I've only visited Manic Organic with my friends, but with a partner, it's the perfect place to relax, and tuck into some good-for-you grub.
Everything is vegetarian and organic, and they strive to pack the plates with local and fairtrade produce. Nothing is deep fried or microwaved, so it's as wholesome as it is tasty.
