have just launched a new programme of culinary tours around the city. A 'food walk', isn't quite as it sounds. Instead of walking around, and eating (which is exactly what I thought), the guided walks will be led by accredited Manchester tour guides, who will discuss the history of the area, as well as offering up funny anecdotes.

There are five 'walks' this month, which start on the 3rd of November. The walks begin in a certain place - in this case Spinningfields - and consist of eating, chatting, and learning about that particular area.

The walk on the 3rd, is actually a 'Safari Lunch', which costs £30 (like all of the walks). The walk begins at the John Rylands library on Deansgate. Arrive hungry because the tour guide will take a group to three venues around Spinningfields: one for a starter, another for a main, and a final destination for dessert.

All of the walks take approximately three hours, so remember to wear decent walking shoes. You will be sitting for some of the time, but it's called a 'walk' for a reason.

Buy tickets online , and get ready for an afternoon of feasting.
