What can be more satisfying than a book eh? Turning the pages, digesting the words as they unfold, and pondering the illustrations inside. As I like art and design, and especially illustration, Magma is the store that gets the senses pinging.

Magma specialises in 'cool' - you know, that thing that's hard to place until you actually see it. Magma's full of it though, promoting the work of artists and artisans on such items as t-shirts, posters, DVDs, stationary, and of course, books.

Doesn't sound so different so far - well as I told you before, the focus is much more on the new - new artists with new ideas and new designs, not just the tried and tested formula of other institutions. Have a look around and let the designs dazzle you.

Of the two sites available, I prefer the Magma Concept Store, with its well organised sections covering areas such as Art, Architecture, Illustration and Photography. If you have a problem finding what you're looking for, or of course you just want to browse, a huge selection is also available on their website too. While on there, don't forget to look at the Weird Stuff section - a personal favourite of mine.

So, whether you're looking for presents, gifts or inspiration itself - consider Magma before doing anything else, you can't fail but leave inspired.
