Sun 25 Aug 2013 - Mon 26 Aug 2013

Green-fingered residents of Ludlow are throwing open their gates and inviting visitors to view their gardens on August 25 and 26, 2013.

Around 30 small gardens in Ludlow will be open to the public with a free minibus available to ferry daytrippers around the various sites.

Most of the gardens have not been open to visitors before.

In addition, a sculpture trail showcasing the work of four artists can be seen in some of the gardens. Two art exhibitions showing landscapes by Edward Bell and botanical illustrations by Helga Powell will be also open and there will be live music by the Ludlow Jazz Quartet and the seven-strong Bang On samba band.

A range of stalls will sell plants, garden artefacts, cakes, wine and chocolates. The Grow, Cook, Share communal vegetable garden will provide fresh veg for sale alongside pizzas from their cob oven.

While they queue for the gardens visitors will be entertained by jugglers, stilt walkers, hula dancers, magicians and musicians.

Hunger pangs will be banished with a range of refreshments, from light lunches to afternoon teas and ice creams.

Tickets are £6 for one day or £10 for two, with profits donated to charity. Contact Ludlow Assembly Rooms on 01584 878141 or see this website .
