The perfect destination for a bike ride
Look Mum No Hands!, also known as a cyclists' heaven, is a trendy cafe and full-service bicycle workshop that opened on Old Street back in 2010. A unique shop where one customer may be in line for a pastry and another is waiting to purchase a comedically frightening crocodile helmet, Look Mum No Hands! is sure to make quite an impression to those who stop in.
Look Mum No Hands! is successful on many levels. First, it succeeds as a traditional cafe, with affordable and satisfying coffees, teas, juices, smoothies, pastries, and other food. It is a friendly and positive atmosphere that anyone can enjoy -- cyclist or not. Second, it operates as a full bicycle workshop seven days a week, making it a perfect 'kill two birds with one stone' destination for those requiring bicycle maintenance. Third, and probably most valuable, it is a cool and comfortable hang-out that creates opportunities for people with a shared hobby to come together and establish a sense of community off the road.
Cyclists and cycling enthusiasts will feel very much at home surrounded by bicycle parts and accessories that are for sale throughout the shop, as well as the bicycles displayed on top of the bar by the window. Look Mum No Hands! also frequently hosts fun events that are geared -- no pun intended -- toward a cycling crowd, such as a 'monthly bike jumble' for selling and buying what they refer to as 'bike junk', an upcoming 'Bear on a bike comedy night', screenings, and others that are sure to be similarly entertaining. They also serve a selection of beers, wines, and ciders (but remember: ditch the wheels for a night if you want more than one or two).
Whether you're stopping in for a cup of tea or a new bicycle tire, Look Mum No Hands! has got it covered. But especially if you're a cyclist anywhere near Central or East London, I highly suggest you quickly bike your way over to Old Street as soon as possible-- but don't forget to wear your helmet.
