With lockdown restrictions being lifted and school holidays just around the corner, kids will be looking for opportunities to get outdoors and back on track.
If your kids have a need for speed during these school holidays, Belgrave Harriers is hosting a Summer Sprints Clinic in London with guest coach, David Sadkin, an international high-performance sports coach at the youth, amateur and professional levels. David has coached Great British athletes for the Olympics as well as Premier League players, and for this clinic, he is supported by Belgrave Juniors Sprint Coach, Tom Corel (NCAA D1). Both coaches will inspire and encourage the kids, the programme improving athletic performance, whatever the sport, in a fun and positive environment.
Students will learn and practise a range of skills, including:
the fundamentals of speed
correct technique application (acceleration and max velocity)
how to be a more efficient and powerful runner
how to improve athleticism, coordination, agility and stamina.
And you don't have to be a super sprinter to benefit from the clinic. Sprinting is an excellent cardiovascular exercise often incorporated into other exercise programmes as it increases stamina, burns a lot of calories in a short time and gives a boost to the metabolism. It's a skill that, learned early on, can enhance exercising well into adulthood.
The Summer Sprints Clinic will be held at Battersea Park Millennium Arena during the school holidays on:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 2, 4, 6 August 2021 9, 11, 13 August 2021
