For the last two weeks, I have been rushing past these amazing photos on my each-end-of-the-day commute through St Pancras Station. Being a person who prides herself on paying a bit of attention, I thought it was about time I stopped to enjoy the view through the lens.
Entente Cordiale is a joint show by two
In-Public photographers -
Nick Turpin and
Nils Jorgensen , a couple of expats who have created a series of images which reflect their perspectives on street life in each of their adopted homelands.
Nils hails from Denmark and studied in the UK, so his work finds the poignancy in those small, eccentric moments that abound on London's cosmopolitan streets.
Nick, on the other hand, began life in London and now makes his home in France. His recent work
The French is not permitted to be published in France due to French privacy laws around street photography and so this exhibition is a great opportunity to appreciate his unique expression of life across The Channel.
The exhibition is one of those fabulously unexpected and free things that London does best - supporting creativity and expression in innumerable and publicly accessible ways. However it finishes on July 31st, so if you been busy rushing past twice a day like I have, or you fancy a visit to the glorious and grand old dame that is St Pancras International Station, do yourself a favour. Stop for 10 minutes, savour these dual perspectives from the streets and celebrate Anglo-French relations at their most 'cordiale'.
