Sound familiar? Family days out can be a lot of fun, but first you have to get there, and young children are not known for their patience. If you're looking for something fun to do over the summer holidays, but don't want to have that long tiring journey, then instead of a traditional trip to the beach, why not go to Lollibop? This festival is as sweet as it sounds. Lollibop is the biggest kids festival in the UK, and the only one specifically aimed at children under ten.
Between 16th-18th August there will be nothing but fun, fun, fun: live music, walk-about performances, soft play, workshops, storytelling, and sports. And because it is being held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic, it is in arms reach of any Londoner, so will require no hassle with overnight camping.
The festival is in its fourth year running, and just to show how popular it is, the super early bird tickets have already sold out, despite the 2013 programmed having not even been released yet. There are still early bird & standard tickets available, which cost between £20-£28 each or £78-£110 for a family of four.
To give you an idea of what to expect, last year's festival included a Mr Men & Little Miss Party Roadshow, entertainment from Dick & Dom, performances from the cast of Shrek: The Musical, a Moshi Monsters Mash Up Tournament, life-size Transformers, yoga, cooking classes, a Mad Hatter's tea party, and Horrible History workshops.
