Selfridges is ready to bring rhythm to the city with
Live and Loud - its annual festival which celebrates the city's diverse and vibrant contribution to music.
The festival kicks off on September 22, with ten days of music performances in-store, including a live DJ set with Birmingham's own Mike Skinner from The Streets. Besides music performances, there will be extra events for the whole family too. The event also coincides with
Birmingham Weekender , the bi-annual arts festival that features hundreds of free activities.
More than 20 up-and-coming Brummie bands will perform, while other artists from the city will showcase their talents throughout the store. There will be four collaborations -
on September 23, 24, 30 and October 1 - and the artists will present their new creation live on the Bandstand on level 1 at 4pm each day.
Birmingham is world-renowned for leading the development of Bhangra - the Punjabi music and art movement - and to celebrate this, Live & Loud is hosting a carnival-inspired party with live dancers and musicians on Sunday, September 24.
Another highlight of the festival is Les Commandos Percu on the Friday evening, September 22, with an explosive set which will culminate in a pyrotechnic finale on the terrace. For the ones interested in a pampering time: Beauty and the Beat is an exclusive event when selected customers will be invited to enjoy the performances of live DJ sets and a band. Tickets cost £10, which are redeemable during the evening on beauty hall products.

The four-piece brass band
Bostin Brass will be surprising shoppers with a series of pop-up performances throughout the store - from the car park to the shop floor - between September 22 and 24. A musical picnic and pop-up performances from Aston Performing Arts will be presented at Town Hall/Symphony Hall (THSH). Perfect events to family gatherings!
