Whilst walking around Brighton at the weekend, I stumbled across
Little Miss Muffin in the North Laines market. I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I couldn't resist treating myself to a muffin that just looked so delicious sitting there. I went for the white chocolate and berry muffin but there was an array of other colours and flavours from, chocolate orange and chocolate and chilli or for the non-chocoholics out there, carrot cake muffin or orange rosemary and walnut.
Little Miss Muffin is the creation of Lynn Hamilton who is a self-taught cook and baker with influences from past and present family generations and after many years of cooking for friends and family, set up her own business, encouraged by her daughter. And I can see why, the muffins were light and airy and didn't leave you feeling stuffed (probably a bad thing for me as I could have easily gone back and eaten another).
As well as muffins, her website offers novelty and celebration cakes for special occasions which come the time, I will definitely be going to.
The muffins can also be bought in boxes, perfect for a gift or to take to a party.
Little Miss Muffin can be found every Saturday in Upper Gardner Street, one of the oldest and longest running markets in the North Laines in Brighton or on a Friday in Lewes morning food market. Definitely worth a visit.
