The Heath Bookshop has joined forces with the Hare and Hounds and children’s bookshop How Brave is the Wren to launch their inaugural Literature and Music Festival in Kings Heath, Birmingham.

Taking place between 18–21 April, the festival will feature author events for all ages, music and new artistic commissions that celebrate the connections between literature and music through spoken word, film, dance and sound.

Catherine Gale and Claire Dawes, co-owners of The Heath Bookshop, said: "We are thrilled to announce our first Literature and Music Festival, happening at our shop and with our friends at the Hare and Hounds and How Brave is the Wren."

“Our aim is to continue to celebrate all that is best about books, literature and music whilst also shining a spotlight on Kings Heath. We are working hard on the programme – expect big names, familiar faces and new commissions – and we look forward to announcing more next year."

The Heath Bookshop Literature and Music Festival will be supported using public funding by National Lottery through Arts Council England and will take place across numerous venues in Kings Heath including The Heath Bookshop, How Brave is the Wren and the Hare & Hounds.
