This is one of those places that will simply blow you away - and I should know, as it happened to me...

Imagine the scene, a cold winter's day, the prospect of a long queue underneath an arch - possibly with the immediate need for a public convenience...doesn't sound very appealing so far, I bet - but wait till you go through the entrance.

I honestly have not seen a club like it - wall to roof rows of lights, blinking and switching in time to the music, creating the very Lightbox of the title.

If you like to be astounded, go along and don't even dance - just marvel as swathes of light soar from wall to ceiling and back again - shapes are programmed to zoom off around the venue, and psychadelic washes of colour bathe the dancefloor all the colours of the rainbow.

The events more than provide the background music for the light show though - with some of the hottest nights in London, along with Fire (see my earlier review), making this part of Vauxhall a real go-to place for good times.

The club space is quite intimate, which allows for a real interaction with the music, and also means a wider range of music can be catered for without the pressures of packing the crowds in.

The bar is side-on to entrance of the dancefloor, and spacious enough to mean you are never too long in waiting before getting served. There are also a few seats and tables dotted around the bar space, should you feel like resting your tired feet - which come 4am or later, you will probably be glad about.

Not really a place for taking pictures - but it won't be a problem, I guarantee you will never forget the lights of Lightbox.
