It's the time of year full of magical events and evenings out. The Albert Docks in Liverpool is beautiful at any time of year but in the winter, near Christmas, there is so much to see and do making it the perfect location to visit at this festive time of year.



Liverpool is known for putting on new and different cultural events and being the place to visit to see something new and different and this year the Christmas themed events will not disappoint. The Magical Light Display is a Christmas favourite in the city and it is returning this year to amaze visitors. It takes place every evening between the 1st of December 2017 to the 1st of January 2018 so there is plenty of time to see why this is a firm favourite with visitors to the city. Located at the Albert Docks this is the perfect place to visit in the evening with bars, restaurants and shops open you can enjoy the holiday season with shopping and dining out.

Every evening visitors will be treated to a light display projected onto the Dr Martin Luther King Jr building. Run in partnership with the National Museum Liverpool the display adds to the cities many cultural events around the city. The projection centres around the theme of Unwrapping Christmas with displays of origami patterns and paper craft designs. A beautiful story will be told through lights and images. This is something truly unique taking place and perfect for the whole family. It is one event you won't want to miss.

Come and visit the light show between 5pm-10pm, it will take place every evening so there is plenty of time to see something different. The Albert Docks is located a short walk away from Liverpool One shopping centre making it the perfect place to take a break after Christmas shopping. Plus the docks is great for finding independent businesses, places to eat and museums for adding a little culture to the festive season. Make sure you add this to your list of things to do over the holiday season.

(The waterfront is only 20 minutes from the main train station Liverpool lime street so you can visit the Albert docks from out of town. If you are coming by car there is a car park across the road at Liverpool One shopping centre.)
