All the magic of the cinema is being brought to a theatre in Staffordshire to help recreate those memorable bygone days of the Saturday morning shows. The
Lichfield Garrick will be calling out 'lights, camera, action!' as it plans to roll out a series of large-screen releases within the comfort of its studio theatre setting. And young cinema-lovers can even share in the fun and excitement of the
Saturday screenings by offering up suggestions of which movies they would most like to see. Whether film buffs want something to do to keep the whole family entertained on a rainy weekend morning, or just fancy the experience of watching a favourite cinema release in the theatre, all they have to do is go along to the Garrick, sit back, relax and enjoy the film.
The Lichfield Garrick Saturday morning screenings hope to offer a range of popular classic movies on its #GarrickCinema screen. Family favourites such as
Despicable Me, Finding Nemo, Madagascar, and
Brave are amongst the movies in the spring lineup. However, patrons are advised to check the Garrick theatre website before dropping by just in case they have a performance on that particular weekend, in which case they might not be showing a film that day. All tickets for the Saturday morning movies are £5 each and can be purchased in advance or on the door. Children aged under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The first scheduled screening is on Saturday 30 April with a showing of
The Lion King from 10.30am, That is followed by
Despicable Me on Saturday 14 May at the same time, with further family favourites due at regular intervals. If anyone has any suggestions of films they would like to see on the big screen then they are asked to get in touch with the Garrick by tweeting the theatre - @The_Garrick
