Get The Kids Out From Under Your Feet And Having Fun
Young people have no excuses for not keeping active during the forthcoming October half-term holiday.

Lichfield District Council has unveiled its Holiday Fun programme which is packed with lots of energetic activities to keep youngsters entertained between Sunday 24 October to Sunday 1 November.

Burntwood Leisure Centre and Friary Grange Leisure Centre in Lichfield will be offering a great range of sports courses over the school break from swimming lessons and football coaching to a tennis course and an indoor cycling training camp.

And, together with Lichfield's King Edward VI leisure centre the special offers also include a 'Footy for a Fiver' scheme which also runs at Burntwood and Friary Grange. This allows children to play on a section of one of the centres' synthetic pitches for 5 a go.

In addition, the 'Court Savers' initiative offers court hire in any of the leisure centres, as well as the courts in the city's main Beacon Park, for the reduced price of 4 for adults and 3 for children. Courts include badminton, squash, table tennis, basketball and short tennis, although they are not available at each venue.

On top of sporty fun, families can enjoy fun pool sessions over half term, with a giant inflatable and floats in the water.

Beacon Park is also offering activities, including a Halloween Trail from October 24 to November 1. Families can follow a trail around the park that will lead them to spooky clues to solve to claim a small prize. Trails cost 1 each and will be available from the Ranger Station between 10am and 3pm.

The city park is also holding a 'Feed the Birds' session on Sunday 1 November when children can make bird feeders for 1 each. Running from 11am to 3pm, the drop-in session will take place at the Discovery Hub next to the bowling greens.
