Give Yourself The Gift Of Laughter This Festive Season
Christmas is the time of year for many things, from giving gifts to turkey dinner with all the trimmings.

But Christmas in Lichfield in Staffordshire will also mean comedy with a capital C.

The Lichfield Garrick Theatre's season of Comedy 42 shows - named after a line in the cult sci-fi classic The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - is celebrating the festive holidays with a Christmas Comedy extravaganza.

The monthly comedy nights, which have been performed in the Garrick's more intimate studio, will be stepping up a gear when they move to the main theatre on December 17 with its biggest show yet.

And as well as a top comedy bill headed by TV favourite Gary Delaney, the show will also feature singalongs, Christmas carols, presents, games and loads of festive joy.

The perfect Christmas gift to buy your friends will be hosted by not one, but two comperes with local favourite Chris Purchase being joined on this special occasion by George Rigden.

Headlining the comedy show will be Gary Delaney, who has been a regular feature on television shows such as Mock the Week.

And supporting Gary will be fellow comics Tamar Broadbent, who is also an acclaimed pianist and songwriter, and Ben Van Der Velde, both of whom have enjoyed success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
