Something for everyone as theatre unveils shows aplenty
Blockbuster films and live screened performances and musicals are included in the star-studded line-up at the Lichfield Garrick theatre in Staffordshire as it launches its forthcoming Autumn/Winter season. The award-winning theatre is adding a wide variety of cinematic performances to its normal live shows, enhanced by new comfortable seating in the intimate studio setting. In addition, shows from top London theatres and one-off concerts will be streamed into the Garrick through a brand new top-of-the-range projector. These include a number of live showings so audiences in Lichfield can join in with the magic as it happens. Among the live recordings are top-billed performances such as Westlife: The Twenty Tour, One Man, Two Guvnors starring James Corden, A Midsummer Night's Dream starring Gwendoline Christie, Matthew Bourne's Romeo & Juliet, and comedy legend Billy Connolly.

At the same time, movie fans are able to watch some of the latest cinema releases, such as Angel Has Fallen, Playmobil: The Movie and Rambo: Last Blood, with new films announced monthly. Lichfield Garrick's Chief Executive, Karen Foster, said: "We know how many people in Lichfield want a cinema in their hometown and so I am delighted to be able to offer all the latest movies and event cinema screenings in our newly refurbished studio space. As a small, independent charity, we want to bring the best entertainment to Lichfield and the local area, and this will add to the increasingly popular programme of live theatre our patrons have come to expect. The Lichfield Garrick welcomes over 100,000 people through its doors each year and with the new offer, this will bring many more people into the city."
Blackeyed Theatre return with classic Jane Eyre
Among the famous names and faces lined up to tread the boards at Lichfield Garrick are comedian Ed Byrne, national treasure Gyles Brandreth, West End favourite Lee Mead and soprano Lesley Garrett, alongside new works from Nick Barber with his one-man biopic of the theatre's namesake, David Garrick, in Star, and an exciting return from Blackeyed Theatre with their version of literary classic Jane Eyre. Music lovers will be tapping their toes at the incredible selection of world-class musicians, including celebrated jazz singer Clare Teal & her Big Mini Big Band and The Syd Lawrence Orchestra with their Big Band Spectacular. And pantomime season will soon be upon us with Lichfield legend Sam Rabone again being joined by CBeebies' Rebecca Keatley for Cinderella. Also for younger family audiences, there is Charlie & the Christmas Cat, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and the Mr Men & Little Miss Show, while theatre-goers of all ages will delight in an in-house farcical festive murder mystery, Christmas Carol Casebook: Away in a Danger.
