Forget About Those Wastelines As Food Stalls Abound
Food, food, glorious food! The Lichfield Food Festival will be tempting the tastebuds of thousands of visitors when it sets out its stalls in the historic Staffordshire city in August. The popular, free-entry end of summer treat is taking place in venues and streets across Lichfield city centre on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August.

The festival will showcase top chefs from across the region, a huge array of specialist food and drink, entertainment in the form of a baking competition, and a brewers event. The Food Festival Market is being organised by Cocker-hoop Creative, while the city centre's streets are set to be packed once more with food and drink stalls from specialist producers, including a wide range of street food.

The application process for leading food and drink traders to be a part of this year's festival has opened with the aim of making the event as popular and successful as in previous years. Traders are invited to apply to Lichfield District Council online.

The organising committee for this year's Food Festival is being headed up by the Lichfield BID Manager, Morag Pringle who said: "Every year Lichfield Food Festival grows and grows and Lichfield BID is delighted to be involved in such a key event in Lichfield's social calendar.

The event has such a massive impact on the city, attracting thousands of visitors from across the region, putting us on the foodie map and allowing us to showcase all that our city has to offer, from its restaurants, bars and shops to its heritage attractions and parks."

Lichfield Food Festival is organised in partnership by Lichfield BID, Cocker-hoop Creative, The Kitchen Shop, Three Spires Shopping Centre, Lichfield Arts, Lichfield Cathedral, Cakeydora and the Lichfield Garrick. It is also supported by Lichfield District Council.
