Roll up, roll up, roll up.
Local artists, schools and community groups in Staffordshire are being given the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience free of charge.
The Lichfield Garrick theatre has launched a new Community Stage which can now be booked by interested parties eager to display their talent on a professional stage.
A special space for the Community Stage has been made available on the top floor of the Garrick theatre.
Selected acts and groups will now be given a slot on the stage, usually before or after a performance either in the main theatre or studio.
The Community Stage has been introduced by the Garrick's Artistic Director, Tim Ford, in order to encourage artists, schools and community groups from the region to showcase their work to a wider audience without having to pay a venue booking fee.
The first act to take advantage of the free space was Lichfield-based duo 'Chris and Dan' who performed a selection of classic contemporary songs and hits from the musicals to a packed audience.
The duo is made up of local performers Dan Anketell, who is also a music teacher, and Chris Buckle.
Chris said: "We're so proud to be the first act to perform on the new Community Stage."Our acoustic set was well received and it was such a buzz to play in front of an audience. The stage is a great opportunity for local performers and we would encourage everyone to have a go."
Tim Ford said: "Chris and Dan were brilliant, showing just what Lichfield has to offer. So, if you're a musician, poet, dancer or even a stand-up comedian, we want to hear from you and give you the chance to develop your performance skills."
