Wed 07 Feb 2018 - Wed 29 Aug 2018

This workshop is for anyone interesting in learning a new skill and perhaps starting a new career in gardening.

Taking place between from the 7th February until the 29th August 2018 is an exciting course which could change your career completely. The accredited Horticultural Skills Award has some places left for the classes starting in February. Located in Salford, attendees will learn at Edith's Garden at Start. The venue is located at Brunswick House and is a place where people in the local community can learn all about plants and develop horticultural skills. The course is run by Start in Salford , who are an organisation focused on helping people in the community develop their potential.

The hands-on course will teach valuable skills through practical activities in the therapeutic garden. This is a chance to learn how to grow fruit and vegetables, develop a garden maintenance plan, design plant borders and grow plants and flowers from seeds. No experience is necessary as the course is suitable for absolute beginners. If you have ever fancied taking up gardening, this is the perfect activity. It is suitable for everyone, including those with no knowledge and could benefit community garden workers and anyone currently working in therapeutic gardens to help develop existing skills. Gardening is a great pass time as it is relaxing and therapeutic. This could be a great opportunity for you to learn something new, which could also have a positive impact on your mindset and wellbeing.

The course costs £75 which needs to be paid in advance and a further £3 per week. Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite. With only eight places on the course, this is a great way to learn as the tutors will be able to dedicate more time to each individual. If you fancy booking a place, you must be over 18 years of age, able to attend each week and be able to get to the venue.

The course will run on Wednesdays from 10am until 1pm. For more information, please contact Sue Jeffries on 0161 351 6004 or email [email protected].

Don't miss out on your chance to learn a new skill, check out the course and the other great gardening activities run by Start.
