The Lord's Taverners legendary series of cricket will continue in 2018.

Join the world-renowned selection panel, who will lead everyone through a lively debate and discussion in order to select their ultimate legendary England Test team. There will be current and former stars from the last 50 years here and it will be at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Thursday 27th September, 2018.

Under the leadership of the Chairman of Selectors and television broadcaster, Mark Nicholas, the panel will also include current Director of England Cricket, Andrew Strauss, The Times cricket correspondent and Sky Sports expert, Mike Atherton along with respected Test Match Special broadcaster, Henry Blofeld.

Together, they have hundreds of international appearances, thousands of runs and many hours of watching some of the best English players taking the field. This panel is, therefore, best able to make selections from the best batsmen, bowlers, wicket-keepers and fielders from the last half century of English cricket.

This evening event will be hosted by former England captain, Chris Cowdrey. Here, you will also get a chance to have your say on the selection and there will be appearances from stars of the world game!

    About Lady Taverners
The Lady Taverners was formed by Baroness Thatcher. Normally each Prime Minister had been made a member of the Lord's Taverners, but the first Lady Prime Minister caused the previously all-male club a problem.

So they decided to form the Honorary Lady Taverners, and in the early 1980's, the late David Evans MP invited Baroness Thatcher to become Honorary Lady Taverner No. 1. And she did agree!

Twenty-three other ladies were initially invited by the then Lord's Taverners president, Eric Morecambe, to join. These were ladies who had helped at cricket matches, as well as those who had organised the very successful tombola at the President's Ball. A short time later, more were invited, bringing the total to 61.
