Lady Luck Pub Canterbury
The Lady Luck pub is right in the middle of Canterbury on the pedestrianised St Peters Street. Claim a chair at one of the outside tables and you can watch shoppers bustling by. Inside, the decor is all blood-red walls and old-movie posters with a distinct rock 'n' roll vibe.
There is a lot to draw customers in at the Lady Luck. Regular live-music nights, good ale and a menu filled with vegan and veggie options are a rare combination to find, but they all fit together perfectly at this place.
The vegan food is innovative - a change from the regular boring dishes offered at most pubs. The menu changes, but it always includes homemade food that leaves you full and satisfied. Vegan pies, plant-based chilli dogs, vegetable jambalaya and vegan sausage mash are the sort of thing that you can expect. What's especially nice is that there are often meat versions and vegan versions of the same dish on the menu so everyone at the table can eat the similar food, ensuring no one feels like a freak!
The staff are friendly and fun and the service cannot be faulted.
It's not always necessary to book, but if you have a bigger party, it's probably a good idea to reserve a table. On nights when live bands are playing, they will stop serving food a little earlier.
