A few weekends ago I was reminiscing about my trip to Hawaii 3 years ago where I had the most incredible burgers I have ever eaten. So, this got me thinking. Where could I find the best burger in London? I Googled 'Hawaiian burgers London' as obviously this was still on the brain and up came [LINK=http://www.kua-aina.co.uk/]Kua Aina.

I booked a table for a Saturday night and off I went. The venue is small, just off Canarby Street in London (Oxford Circus tube is the closest to the restaurant). I would advise booking if you want to get a table, especially if there are more than 2 of you but most people do just walk in off the street.

The menu is in the style of "American diner" with a large choice of burgers, salads and sandwiches.

I would have gone for the Hawaiian burger on the menu (pineapple and cheese) but due to my love of avocado, I went for the bacon and cheese with extra avocado. Wow. Absolutely delicious with perfectly cooked meat (chose from 1/4 pound or 1/2 pound) and fresh salad. I had my burger medium-well done but you can request your burger cooked to suit you.

I also ordered the sweet potato fries which were done to perfection.

The food came in little basket with "newspaper" style lining. Gave the restaurant a really fun feel. My friend ordered the normal fries and they were also brilliant. Really good "skin-on" fries that you just can't get enough off. I definitely pinched more than one!

This isn't the sort of place you go to dressed up but a perfect casual night out or early meal after a day of shopping on Oxford Street. Go with the attitude that this is a burger bar rather than a restaurant but you just can't beat a comfy booth to cosy up in and munch away.

The restaurant is also great for kids as the atmosphere is fun and the decor is quirky with surf style Hawaiian decor

The food is very reasonably priced for central London and absolutely delicious. Don't miss out on this one!
