Described as the 'definitive event for anyone with a love of stitch and crafts', the
Knitting and Stitching Show provides enthusiasts with a treasure trove of specialist supplies, galleries, and workshops. Shows are held across the UK, but the next one taking place is between the 8th - 12th and
Alexandra Palace in London. This fantastic venue has fourteen different eateries, including bars, cafes, restaurants, and tea rooms. Somehow afternoon tea just seems to fit in perfectly with the theme.
Tickets can no longer be bought in advance, but you can buy them at the door for £16 adults, £15 concessions, and £7 for under 19s. The highlights of the show is
Coats Crafts UK's fashion show, which will feature garments from
Rowan magazine, Zandra Rhodes debut Lace Mountain collection, and a debut of Merino Extrafine yarns.
New this year is the launch of Stitch-by-Stitch, a series of demonstrations given by experts in the field of knitting, crochet, beadwork, embroidery, sewing, and weaving. These free demos are designed at complete beginners and children, who want to learn new skills. There are also tons of workshops and lectures such as patchwork, badge making, upcycled fashion, jewellery making, and much more.
