Every year Kingston holds a May Merrie festival, and with this year's theme being 'play', it sounds like it will be the funnest one yet. On the 6th of May, Kingston town centre will tun into one big playground with giant board games such as Hungry Hippos, Magnetic Fishing, and Kerplunk. As Kingston was also the coronation ground of seven Anglo-Saxon kings, there will be a special 'Crown Those Saxon Kings' game.

Kingston also has a rich aviation history; many of our most famous fighter planes were constructed there, and no other town contributed as much to the RAF. It all be began with Thomas Sopworh in 1912, who founded the Sopworth Flying School at Brooklands. In honour of the twons heritage, Kingston will be having a giant paper plane competition.

As well as street buskers, two stages will feature live bands such as Tankus The Henge , The Beau Bow Belles , and Off-Key He Man.

Around the centre, you will find many circus performers, from jugglers, stilt walkers, and hula hoopers to aerial acts, and balloon modelling, many of which will be giving walkabout workshops.

With fun fairs, falconry, and a Punch & Judy Show to top it all off, May Merrie is an event not to miss.
