A Tudor Village Has Popped Up

Christmas market

Down in Kingston's Ancient Market Place things look a little different. Until the 24th December, the regular market has been accompanied by a Tudor-style village.

Mulled Wine

Inside these little chalets you will find people selling waffles, festive meat, and mulled wine.

Don't forget the Medieval stall selling swords and bows, so your little tykes can fight dragons and other foes.

There's plenty of street food on which to feast, but if it is a tad windy, shelter's not far east.

Buy some nostalgic childhood sweets, it will give you a sugar rush, and makes a tasty treat.

The Cheshire Cheese Company

I love going to Kingston's Christmas market; the small wooden huts brings out a childish excitement in me and gets me in the mood for the big day. I usually don't buy anything, but yesterday I came across a place doing speciality cheeses.

Cheese that makes you grin

The woman gave me a taster of several of her flavours, which included toffee, mince pies, strawberry & champagne, and curry. If you were doing a blind taste test you would have not guessed it was cheese, but each one was delicious. They were £3.95 each or 3 for £11. I was going to get 3, when she said that there was also the option to get 4 for £15, and that came with a membership card to The Cheshire Cheese Company. Although I doubted I'd buy from their website, I was taken in, and got all four.

If you are looking for some festive food to put in a hamper or serve on Christmas day, then you can't do better than Kingston's Christmas Market.
