The O2 Arena was set ablaze on Friday September 14th by a man standing no more than 5'8". But let that not deter you. Judging from the sold out stands and his spectacular performance, this man is a giant among men. The increasingly talented Kevin Hart, born in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and now living in L.A., this comic/actor is fast becoming a hallmark of comedic genius and success on an international level.
Kevin Hart cemented himself into hall of fame status once he broke the long standing box office record previously held by the legendary comedian and iconic actor Eddie Murphy. Kevin Hart was able to gross 1.1 million dollars in revenue from two days of ticket sales during his 90 city tour of the United States entitled 'Laugh at My Pain'. Kevin proudly proclaimed to a packed out audience how he now belongs to a unique, albeit, very small club of comedians who have managed to sell out the O2 Arena. The only other member of this club being Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian/actor and fellow countryman Chris Rock, who was the first comedian to sell out London's hottest entertainment venue on the 23rd May 2008.
After his performance Kevin Hart requests for people to come to his After-Party and insists he will buy bottles of water for everybody – even when not performing Kevin is rarely without jokes. He then goes on to say how appreciative he is to be given such an opportunity and how blessed he feels to be able to take his craft to new and expounding heights. This is the level of his gratitude and why everyone needs to pay attention to a man that seems to have no limits.
Kevin Hart first graced the O2 with his presence on May 27th at the IndigO2, a much smaller venue then that of the O2 Arena, but yet he was met with the same barrel of laughs and cries of glee from the crowd. I do believe Kevin Hart will be back performing in London, though dates are not confirmed. Furthermore Kevin will be releasing a DVD of his international tour set to go on sale early next year, be sure to purchase a copy. In conclusion I highly recommend seeing him perform live, but if preferred, a comfortable seat, nice snack and a reliable internet connection will allow you to watch numerous stand up performances of Kevin Hart via YouTube.
