From February 2nd until April 14th artist Kev Munday will be the artist in residence at the Solent Showcase Gallery at Southampton Solent University. The Stand Together Exhibition will be a 'living exhibition' with Munday creating works throughout the almost three month period.

Kev Munday's works are have an iconic style. Featuring bold lines and colours, his collections of colourful characters have covered walls, furniture, vehicles, canvases and more interesting and unusual places and objects. There's even a wishlist on his website of objects he'd like to be able to decorate with his art. He has created both public art and worked on corporate campaigns, working for brands like Disney, Uni-Ball and Fracture Skateboards. Munday is a Solent University alumnus and will be returning to the university as an artist in residence.

Creative works will be painted directly onto the walls of the Solent Showcase Gallery. Visitors will not only be able to witness the exhibition growing and evolving, but they will also be able to interact with the exhibition and provide input and inspiration for new contributions. The co-creation space will offer even more opportunities to participate, while planned gallery takeovers will allow for more variety through workshops, performances and events.

In preparation for the Stand Together Exhibition, Munday's works have already been making a wider impact on the city. Since December, Southampton residents have been able to submit selfies to be incorporated into one of Munday's pieces, the #StandTogether Selfie Mural . His works have also been used to decorate billboards around the city, as well as a series of works on city bins supported by Go! Southampton .

Entry to the exhibition is free. The gallery is located in the Southampton Solent University's Sir James Matthews building on Guildhall Square, near the Civic Centre and the City Art Gallery. It is open between 11am and 6pm Monday to Friday, and between 11am and 5pm on Saturdays.
