London is known for all its expansive gardens but sometimes you may want something different, like a mix of the Vatican gardens with a touch of a Los Angeles party. For all of this, this quite unknown place is perfect for you: The Roof Gardens in High Street Kensington!

First of all, the Roof Gardens is one of the most elegant places in London. Don't go there wearing your baggy Sunday clothes! It is decorated with beautiful pompous gardens, small fountains, several bars, crystal chandeliers and, oh surprise, pink flamingos! The whole thing is based on the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. It was the dream of Trevor Bowen, the vice president of John Barker & Co. The gardens took two years to build with the help of landscape architect Ralph Hancock, at a cost of £25,000 and opened to the public in May 1938.

You can also book a table in Babylon Restaurant for a bird's eye view of the English Woodland Garden, or pop in for a cocktail on the terrace. If you feel extra fancy, you could book the whole thing for an event, like a wedding or a birthday party.

The VIP room of the club is very impressive and unique with luxurious white leather armchairs. The Roof Gardens is known to host celebrities like Jade Jagger and Sienna Miller. The rest of the clientele is often trendy VIP clubbers and very elegant people. In addition to the usual music, several famous DJs have performed here, including Andy Cato of Groove Armada. The Roof Gardens offers trendy and very impressive themed events, ranging from the Brazilian atmosphere to the ice sculptures and the après-ski atmosphere of Verbier in the Alps. The Roof Gardens will offer you one of the best nightlife experiences in London.
