Juice Tonic is Soho's newest juice bar.
Juice Tonic is a 'true' juice bar that has come to Soho. I've been bored of the many venues that claim to hold the title of 'juice bar', but in fact they're a sandwich bar or a cafe which simply sells smoothies, using frozen fruit and blended with juice from concentrate.
Juice Tonic, however, honours the true meaning of a juice bar and the staff are clued up too.
I stumbled across this place only last weekend, when I was in Leicester Square with a friend. We were looking for a cafe which we hadn't already been to, and discovered this little place.
It's only small, but it needn't be big in my opinion. Juice Tonic is a well-lit space with large glass doors, more of a large room than a juice bar. That said, fresh juice and health food paraphenalia line the walls adjacent to the bar itself.
There's a large array of juices, smoothies and blends on the menu on the back wall. You can request your own juice or smoothie, but they have plenty for you to choose from. There's protein filled smoothies made with cashew butter, raw coconut flesh and almond milk and the tropical juices made of lime, pineapple, guava and orange.
I opted for their best-selling freshly-pressed 'green detox' juice of spinach, kale, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon, ginger, dandelion and liquid zeolite. Although it was filled with vegetables it was ever so slightly sweet. I loved it.
My friend, instead opted for a smoothie and a juice, which were both delicious and there were vegan protein balls on the cash desk, liquid zeolite and vegan protein powders to the left too.
It's more than a juice bar if I'm honest, it's a health-food haven, in the most organic and natural sense of the world, and it seems I'm glowing with health. Bottoms up.
