On Saturday 17th February, you can have a go at singing and join in a choir rehearsal at The Fusilier Museum in Bury. This is an event for everyone and it doesn't matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced singer, everyone is welcome to come along. The day's activities will be led by Juan Ortuno, the director, and accompanied by pianist Jonathan Ellis. The day is a celebration of choral music through the ages, where you can enjoy a range of music. Choral music is designed for an ensemble, so it is the perfect group choir music. This event will be interesting for lovers of choral music to see how it has altered over time.
The fun-filled day is something different to do at the weekend. Running from 9.30am, this will be a busy and full day of singing. The morning starts at 9.30am, when you will register for the day. The main rehearsal will take place from 10am until 3.30pm, which will include refreshment breaks, both in the morning and afternoon. For lunch, you can order something to eat in the museum's cafe or venture into the town centre, where there is a range of restaurants and cafes to choose from. At 4pm, it will be your chance to shine as the choir will share their day's work by performing to the public. You can invite your family or friends to watch you in this free performance.
If this sounds like the weekend activity for you, come along for a fantastic day and learn something new. The day costs £10 and students can get a discounted rate of £5 - this includes music hire. Email email@example.com for more details. If you enjoy the day you might want to join the Bury Choral Society who are running the performance day and also put on a range of activities and events. This could be the start of a new hobby or just a chance to test your singing skills.
