Birmingham's John Taylor Hospice holds its second Birthday Walk on Sunday October 6.

The walk begins at 10.30am and travels through Pype Hayes Park, past the Hospice in Grange Road and back to the Ramada Hotel.

John Taylor Hospice was opened in 1910 and is the oldest non-denominational hospice in the UK. In 1948 it was gifted to the NHS and in 2011 staff chose to leave the NHS and set up as an independent social enterprise.

More than 600 people across Birmingham and their families will receive the care they need from the Hospice each day. It costs 13,500 to run all of its services each day.
Registration for the Birthday Walk costs 5 per person and can be done online on or forms are available at the Hospice.
