A long time ago, John Lewis's Espresso Bar did the most gorgeous panini, but after a while, they changed the recipe, and they were never quit the same. A little while longer and their panini fell off the menu all together. Well now they're back, and not only that, they're back to their original standards. At least their tomato and bacon panino is anyway.
At £5.50, it is a bit on the steep side, but the quality is excellent. Before, their bread was more the shape of the baguette, which not only mean their was more bread that filling, but also made it too bulky to cook through properly. Now they use proper panino bread, and you can see by the scoring on the picture, how well cooked they are. All the juices from the tomato and bacon seeped into the the bread, making for one delicious meal.
