"I will never retire but this will be the last major tour that I will undertake. For the first time these concerts will be me solo on stage playing the guitar, piano and singing," Armatrading, who has been in the music business for over four decades, said.
"I have absolutely enjoyed the last 42 years of performances but now, with my final major tour, I want to capture a unique memory for both myself and the audience."
With this in mind, Joan's performance on March 12th at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall promises to be an extra-special one. Armatrading's music charts a life of extraordinary experience – from her early childhood in St Kitts and Antigua, through to her breakthrough on the Birmingham music scene, musical theatre performances, film soundtracks and becoming a cult hero to thousands of fans the world over.
