Jethro is the stage name of Geoffrey Rowe, and Rowe insists they are two completely different identities. Jethro's fans have been referred to as his 'army of followers' and with over 4 million DVD sales to his name, it's clear that Jethro has remained popular over his 30 plus year career. Keen collectors can find around 18 different DVDs on his website. Up on stage Jethro is a comedic story teller; armed with just his Cornish accent and a microphone he weaves his hilarious tales. The jokes are uncomplicated and his humour is sometimes simple and silly, but he has no trouble brining a whole room to tears of laughter with his "endless stream of irreverent twaddle". Fans might hear a few familiar cracks, but Jethro is always writing new content and spinning new tales.
Geoffrey Rowe is a man of many talents. He is a carpenter by trade and spent his earlier years working as a timber man in a tin mine. But the stage called and at eighteen he joined the St. Just and District Operatic Society. His ability to make people laugh was a natural talent, and Rowe began visiting pubs where he'd sing songs and share his humour. This was the beginning of his stand up career. His television career has included his first role starring as the pirate co-host on Treasure Hunt, while other moments have includes hosting gigs, guest appearances and the occasional Cornish pasty cooking demonstration. On top of this he also owns horses that he shows all over the country and fills up his spare time with charity work.
