Jersey Boys retells the real-life story of how Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons became global superstars. It's more than just a jukebox musical as it also has the emotional depths to examine how fame affects their friendships and love lives.
It charts the American band's history from four boys from the wrong side of the tracks who wrote their own songs to their success at selling 100 million records worldwide. The music is a big part of the show, of course, and goes a long way in making this it such a feel-good and fun show. Alongside the story, audiences get to hear some timeless tunes including Beggin', December 1963 (Oh What A Night), Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Walk Like A Man and Bye Bye Baby.
The actors taking on the roles of the Jersey Boys are Michael Watson, Simon Bailey, Declan Egan and Lewis Griffiths.
For this new UK tour, actor Michael Watson will star as Frankie Valli in most shows with Dayle Hodge returning to the production to play this role at some performances.
Taking on the roles of the rest of the Four Seasons will be Simon Bailey as Tommy De Vito, Declan Egan as Bob Gaudio and Lewis Griffiths as Nick Massi.
All of the actors have got to perfect the roles during previous stints in the show. Michael and Simon starred in the West End production, while Declan performed in Jersey Boys in the West End and Australia, and Lewis was in the first UK and Ireland tour.
Winning Tony, Olivier and Helpmann awards, Jersey Boys has now been seen by over 24 million people worldwide. The tour comes shortly after the show closed in London's West End in March following a record-breaking nine-year run.
